Fournier Group Selects PTC’s Windchill, FlexPLM

FARNBOROUGH, UK, Nov 27, 2018 – PTC announced that Fournier Group, a French manufacturer of kitchen, bathroom and custom-made storage furniture, has selected PTC’s PLM solution Windchill for product data management, and PTC’s retail PLM solution FlexPLM to manage the product development process and the development stages of all product categories. This deployment will allow Fournier to leverage design department data across the entire business, pushing new levels of innovation but also to introduce new collections faster between its brands.

The Fournier Group was founded in 1907 as a family-run cabinet making business. Today, it encompasses several brands, including Mobalpa, Perene, SoCooc and Delpha, and designs and manufactures kitchen, bathroom and custom-made storage units for a global market.

The initial deployment of Windchill will enable Fournier to manage all product data, making product information easily accessible and managed during every step of the product lifecycle. Windchill will also support complex product configurations, needed by the tailored furniture Fournier manufactures. FlexPLM will be deployed early next year to increase efficiency, minimizing the need for system customization and enabling Fournier to manage its ever-growing product portfolio, and giving support to not only the next phase of its growth but also to the needs of design, engineering, marketing, product line management and operations.

“We have an exceptional business strategy, which is why we are working on the road to digital transformation,” said Pierre Gruffaz, CIO at Fournier. “We initially sought a solution with proven capabilities to manage all our product data through one central platform. Windchill was the perfect solution. Progress will be taken further when, during the beginning of next year, we will implement FlexPLM to help support the growth of Fournier and to manage our complete assortment of products.”

PTC’s PLM solutions successfully capture, configure and manage product information during every step of the product lifecycle, and are also effective in supporting companies initiatives to optimize key business processes. Additionally, PTC’s FlexPLM offers line planning, specification management, merchandising, and other essential PLM capabilities for managing a retailer’s complete assortment of products.

“The next step to our digital transformation will be to use Augmented Reality to enrich our customers experience,” continued Gruffaz. “Windchill, coupled with PTC’s Vuforia, will strengthen our ability to show our complete range of products and will reduce our sales cycle.”

“Digital transformation is the process of fundamentally changing business and product development activities to leverage the full scope of digital technologies,“ said Damien Lyant, vice president FRABEN at PTC. “Fournier is taking that first step by implementing a solid product development solution from PTC as its PLM foundation. We look forward to working with Fournier on its digital transformation journey and supporting it in the future as they start to implement an IoT strategy.”
