“A Night Stroll in the Alps” consists of a virtual visit to an alpine environment to discover the wildlife living there. Traversing the different areas of mountain, from bottom to top, users will learn about flora and fauna while feeling the beauty and poetry of nature. The application is a shared experience between the person in the virtual reality environment and another viewer. This viewer interacts with the simulation via a tablet to move the VR users’ chair in tune with the simulation.

“I’m very happy for our students. This was their first ever application project,” said Yann Froger, managing director of EON Reality’s Laval Office. “From the start you could see they were on to something new and exciting. The jury is comprised of seasoned professionals, so I consider it a validation of our model for the education of a new generation of AR/VR professionals to grow our business and the market.”

The IVRC is organized by the Virtual Reality Society of Japan and has been held since 1993. They focus on using Virtual Reality to help bring together academics, students, and industry to help encourage students to “think, learn, and work for themselves.”
