The Emendo application is the first low cost file repair software that automatically analyzes and repairs 3D STL files and optimizes the repair time based on the complexity of the repair.
The single, end user license fee of $49.95 compares favorably with traditional STL repair applications costing several hundred dollars or more, or Web based services that take a long time to process a single repair operation.
One Button Operation
Open the application and double click on the file to be repaired. Emendo automatically checks and validates the STL file. Errors are identified, listed and displayed with a 3D rendering of the object. Click on the Repair button and Emendo does the rest. When the repair is complete, the user has the option to rename the repaired file or replace the original STL file with the repaired version.
A Simple, Fail-Safe Process
Emendo’s automated repair architecture simplifies what is often a complex process in repairing STL files. The single Repair button initiates the repair process using the default Surface Repair mode of operation.
Emendo’s algorithms automatically repair the seven classes of errors that typically occur when creating an STL file from a CAD or modeling application. The user can select the Repair button again if there are any remaining errors (it is common for STL repair operations to create smaller errors when making certain types of repairs to the file). This default repair mode is optimized for accuracy and repaired file size.
In the rare event errors remain, Emendo automatically presents the user with a more powerful repair operation.
This second operation completely rebuilds the mesh representing the surface and provides a 3D printable manifold STL file nearly every time. This more comprehensive repair operation takes longer but produces a printable file out of most “basket case” files that would typically require significant manual repair operations by a skilled technician.
