DSi Digital Launches VIZZ 3D

vizz_logoPEACHTREE CORNERS, GA, Mar 7, 2017 – DSi Digital, LLC has announced the release of VIZZ 3D, a productivity tool that allows building project stakeholders to create 3D visualizations, collaborate on the designs, and share renderings with an unlimited number of viewers.

downloadVIZZ 3D functions as a kind of building information modeling (BIM) base camp. The licensed user, perhaps a general contractor or other primary project stakeholder, provides the VIZZ 3D platform for a project. They can import Autodesk Revit-generated models of virtually any size, create 3D visualizations of the models, and look inside assemblies to see framing and mechanical runs. VIZZ 3D users can interact with up to 20 collaborators, who can post location specific notes and annotations to the platform. They can also share models and “walk-throughs” with an unlimited number of viewers. While viewers can’t post comments or annotations, they can access shared 3D visualizations and walk-throughs freely without the need for special software or training.

“VIZZ 3D solves a major problem plaguing the design and construction process,” said Mitch Hughes, CEO at DSi Digital. “Sophisticated 3D software has taken over architecture and engineering, but owners and contractors, who generally don’t own or have time to learn these programs, are left in a largely 2D, paper based world. Our technology solves this problem by giving anyone 3D model access without the risk of corrupting the design, helping secure client buy-in while reducing conflicts among the building trades.”

VIZZ 3D allows building owners, developers, AEC firms, manufacturers reps, material suppliers, system fabricators, specialty subcontractors and perspective customers to visualize models in an immersive, easy-to-use platform.

“A general contractor using VIZZ 3D can work with collaborators and set up visualizations for hundreds of viewers,” said Arol Wolford, a construction industry entrepreneur and DSi Digital partner. “They could walk around a building together, experiencing space, lighting and flow first-hand. They could look at the lighting fixtures and other objects and tap to see its manufacturer, part number and warranty. If the information is in the design model, it is accessible in VIZZ.”

VIZZ 3D’s advantage is the creation of a collaborative environment that combines the ease of use and virtual reality of gaming technology with the construction and product information of the design team. The VIZZ 3D gaming engine turns any Revit model into realistic 3D renderings that can be shared and viewed on PCs, Macs, and portable devices. Like a sophisticated computer game, VIZZ 3D allows users to “walk” through buildings virtually, “traverse” the grounds and interior spaces, and “experience” details such as surface textures, lighting effects, and other building design features.

For more immersive environments than a computer, VIZZ 3D offers compatibility with several virtual reality (VR) systems, including Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR headsets, and the recently introduced Oculus-ready PCs.

Each VIZZ 3D license is priced at $2,500 annually or $250 per month. The license includes a generous amount of cloud storage space and accommodates up to five projects with a combined total of 500,000 square feet in size. More storage, more project scope, and more collaborators can be added for a modest fee. Corporate licensing is also available. Collaborators and viewers are never charged for access to a licensed VIZZ 3D platform.
