HELSINKI, Finland, Oct 5, 2017 – DeskArtes has released 3DEdit Pro version 3.0, a dedicated software tool for model repair and painting with 3D Systems ProJet x60 printers.
3DEdit Pro 3.0 is an advanced software application that allows you to repair, paint, texture and prepare 3D models for 3D printing in color. 3DEdit Pro 3.0 enables you to prepare 3D files automatically and with unprecedented ease – optimized for use with 3D Systems ProJet x60 3D printers.
3DEdit Pro 3.0 includes complete set of commands for manipulating 3D faceted models. These commands include STL verification and repair, STL offsetting, splitting, connecting, decimation, smoothing, solidify (aka “shrink wrap”), nesting and Boolean as well as faceted model coloring, texturing and texture painting. The new repair command Solidify enables the fixing of problematic architectural and other models often with a single click. The new Texture Paint command allows to fix and tune colors on textured models for perfect 3D Printing outcome.
Optionally, you can input, triangulate and auto-repair standard and native 3D CAD models for 3D Color Printing and Additive Manufacturing applications. Import translators include STEP, CATIA 4/5/6, CATIA CGR, NX Unigraphics, SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, Inventor, Parasolid, JT and Creo/ProE formats. Conversion keeps original assembly colors for 3D Color Printing and can generate optimized triangulation for simulation applications. Color models can be transferred to 3D Systems 3DPrint software automatically with a push of a button.
3DEdit Pro 3.0 is part of DeskArtes Expert Series software suite. Other tools include View Expert, Dimensions Expert, 3Data Expert Lite, Sim Expert and 3Data Expert modules with an increasing selection of effective and robust commands for 3D model preparation.
3Data Expert is DeskArtes’ flagship solution for manufacturing engineers to efficiently create and manipulate faceted models. 3Data Expert is a professional tool for preparing 3D models for Additive Manufacturing and Simulation applications. There are several commands for manipulation of both 3D surface models and 3D faceted models. These commands include surface triangulation, STL verification and repair, STL offsetting, splitting, connecting, decimation, smoothing, shrink wrap, 3D nesting, Boolean, support generation as well as model painting and texturing.
Dimensions Expert and 3Data Expert Lite modules include the most frequently needed tools for everyday data processing, like 3D model splitting, connecting and 3D Text tagging for 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing. The splitting functionality with automatic teeth, connector and clearance generation between the split halves enables efficient STL model preparation for 3D Printers with smaller work space.
DeskArtes Sim Expert 3D geometry processing solution is targeted to users of Simulation software products. With the new standard and native CAD input and triangulation functions, an optimal triangulation for metal and plastic moulding simulation applications can be generated even more easily than before.
View Expert is a no cost solution for CAD/CAM professionals and hobbyists to check and repair 3D models for error free production with 3D Printing systems. View Expert, enhanced with optional input formats, offers DeskArtes 3D Color Printing customers an efficient tool for converting any CAD model or assembly with colors for 3D color printing.
“DeskArtes had been working together with 3D Systems since 2007 to provide efficient data preparation tools for 3D color printing,” notes Mr. Ismo Mäkelä, CEO of DeskArtes. “With 3DEdit Pro 3.0 and it’s new repair and painting functions DeskArtes continues to provide 3D Systems ProJet x60 customers with state of the art tools for efficient color model preparation.”
