Concepts NREC Releases Agile Engineering Design System v8.4

ConceptsNREC_newlogoWHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT, Dec 17, 2015 – Concepts NREC, the world’s leading turbomachinery design, development, testing, manufacturing, and software company, announced the release of version 8.4 of its Agile Engineering Design System. Version 8.4 includes new capabilities that enable their global customer base to design higher performance turbomachinery in less time. As always, Concepts NREC has simultaneously released updates to all ten of their CAE products.

Some highlights of the 8.4 release include:

1. Tight integration between their AxCent geometry generation software and their Pushbutton CFD and Pushbutton FEA solvers. This integration brings full 3D CFD and FEA analysis earlier in the design process. Processing time has also been dramatically reduced, with the solvers running as much as four times faster.

2. Easier automated optimization to allow a broad exploration of previously untapped design space. This new functionality will help advance the state-of-the-art for performance and reliability for all classes of turbomachines.

3. Seamless coupling with our industry-leading MAX-PAC CAM software to allow immediate feedback of the manufacturability effect of any design changes.

4. Greater range of components that can be designed to include support for turbine exhaust hoods and pipe diffusers. The models for all classes of turbomachines (axial and radial pumps, compressors, and turbines) have been enhanced with the latest state-of-the-art design work developed at Concepts NREC, as well as work published by others.

“We are very proud of this release,” said Peter Weitzman, vice president of Software at Concepts NREC. “Customers who upgrade to Version 8.4 will be able to improve machine performance, reduce manufacturing costs and complete their designs in less time.”

The new release is available immediately to active agile product support (APS).

About Concepts NREC

For over 50 years, Concepts NREC has been a strategic partner to many of the world’s leading turbomachinery companies. They are the only company in the world that offers a complete in-house solution – from initial concept through design, manufacturing, testing, and installation.

About the Agile Engineering Design System

Concepts NREC’s Agile Engineering Design System is a complementary suite of programs for CAE and CAM that covers the entire design process – from preliminary sizing through fluid dynamics and mechanical stress and vibration analysis. Final designs can be easily imported into their industry-leading CAM software, MAX-PAC, to create efficient 5-axis machining strategies.
