Certiport Launches Autodesk Student World Championship

Certiport_logoSALT LAKE CITY, UT, Apr 29, 2015 – Certiport, a Pearson VUE business, the leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, announces the launch of the 2015 Autodesk Certified User World Championship to recognize students with marketable 2D and 3D design skills. The global online competition is open to students between the ages of 13 and 22 who attain a passing score on any of the following Autodesk Certified User certification exams: Autodesk Certified User – AutoCAD, Autodesk Certified User – Inventor, Autodesk Certified User – Revit Architecture, Autodesk Certified User – 3ds Max, or Autodesk Certified User – Maya.

“There is already a great demand from students and we are thrilled to announce the launch of the first ever Autodesk Certified User World Championship,” said Craig Bushman, vice president of marketing for Certiport. “We believe the competition will motivate more students to validate their Autodesk skills by earning certification, ultimately boosting their confidence and giving them a respected industry credential for their resume.”

Eligible students will be invited to compete by completing an online design challenge by August 1, 2015 in three project categories using Autodesk software: architecture, manufacturing, and media and entertainment. One champion in each category will win an Autodesk-sponsored trip for themselves and one chaperone to attend Autodesk University in Las Vegas, December 1-3, 2015.

The Autodesk Certified User World Championship aligns with Autodesk’s “Design the Future” program and the continued transformation of Autodesk’s education business model in order to fulfill its mission of helping students and educators imagine, design and create a better world. The “Design the Future” program makes available $250 million of 3D design software, project-based curricula, training and certification to every middle and high school in the United States in 2014.

Career and technical education programs across the United States equip students with marketable 2D and 3D design skills by teaching them to use state-of-the-art Autodesk design software. Autodesk Certified User certification confirms students have the skills necessary to continue their design careers – whether they attend college, enter the workforce or work toward additional levels of industry certification after graduation.
