Carbon Appoints Dara Treseder as Chief Marketing Officer

REDWOOD CITY, CA, Dec 4, 2018 – Carbon, a leading Silicon Valley-based digital manufacturing company, announced that Dara Treseder has joined the company as its first chief marketing officer. Dara joins Carbon from General Electric (GE), where she served as chief marketing officer for GE Ventures and GE Business Innovations. Dara’s outstanding track record in building and leading high-performing global marketing organizations will support Carbon’s mission to drive the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry.

“The entire team joins me in welcoming Dara to Carbon,” said Dr. Joseph DeSimone, Carbon’s CEO and co-founder. “Dara joins us at a critical time in Carbon’s journey, as we push the boundaries of technology and execute our strategy to create a new standard for digital manufacturing across the globe. Her passion and extensive experience in marketing and technology will play an instrumental role in Carbon achieving its ambitious goals.”

At an important time for digital manufacturing, Carbon is poised for explosive growth. Through partnerships with companies that include adidas, Johnson & Johnson, and BMW, Carbon is moving beyond 3D printing to full-scale digital manufacturing by helping customers create break-through products across industry sectors, from healthcare to consumer goods. Last month it announced radical price reductions for its most widely used resins, further expanding the addressable market for large-scale digitally manufactured parts.

As chief marketing officer, Dara will find new ways to showcase Carbon’s story at scale, bringing a wealth of experience creating high-impact marketing strategies and campaigns for top-performing companies.

“I am deeply inspired by Carbon’s vision and values and excited to be part of a trailblazing team that is redefining digital manufacturing and creating the industry’s future,” said Dara. “As chief marketing officer, I am looking forward to advancing Carbon’s brand, strengthening our customer connections, and rapidly scaling our global growth.”

She joins Carbon as it strengthens its leadership team. Board member Ellen J. Kullman, former chair and CEO of DuPont, was recently named lead independent director. Deborah M. Messemer, former managing partner of KPMG’s Bay Area and Northwest Region, joined the board and will chair the audit committee. In addition, Elisa de Martel was promoted to chief financial officer.
