PASADENA, CA, Nov 10, 2015 – Bluebeam Software, leading developer of PDF-based annotation and collaboration solutions for the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) and oil and gas industries, announces the release of Bluebeam Studio Prime, a new cloud-based subscription solution for digital collaboration.

Studio Prime marks a new addition to the Bluebeam Studio Platform. Introduced in 2010, Bluebeam Studio is the cloud collaboration technology integrated into the company’s flagship markup solution, Bluebeam Revu, which helps teams and organizations manage projects anywhere, at any time, from a desktop, Windows tablet or iPad. The two sides of Studio include Studio Sessions, which enables online collaboration among project partners on PDFs in real time, and Studio Projects, which is a simple document management system for PDFs and any other file type.

Studio Prime includes all the powerful collaboration features of Bluebeam Studio, with the additional ability for administrators to globally control user access to managed Projects and Sessions, as well as the ability to download in-depth reports documenting all Projects and Sessions activity. Studio Prime also provides access to the Bluebeam Studio API, which supports integrations with third-party systems.

Studio Prime’s focus on administrative control meets the demand for additional organizational oversight of cloud-hosted content. Through the Studio Prime Portal, administrators, for example, can block or restrict external collaborators who no longer need access to managed Sessions and Projects upon completion of a project. With Studio Insights, administrators can generate in-depth, exportable reports on project and session activity, providing greater visibility into Studio usage and easy audits of user access to managed content.

Organizations that choose Studio Prime will have access to the Studio API for integration creation via the Bluebeam Developer Network. Once Bluebeam has approved the proposed integration, studio prime administrators have the ability to authorize members to leverage the API, as in the case of a project manager who wants to keep studio project documents in sync with an internal document management system or launch a Studio Session from an external application. Prime administrators can also disable integrations if, for example, an integration is in violation of company-content policies.
