Bentley Releases MOSES for Offshore Engineers

bentley_logoEXTON, PA, Jan 7, 2015 – Users will benefit from the first major release since Bentley acquired MOSES in October 2013. MOSES is the mainstay for offshore engineers to reliably manage risk and accurately predict performance in complex offshore installation projects. Bentley VP of Offshore & Marine Phil Christensen said, “Our users are increasingly creating more complex models for their offshore simulations. In this release we have added new, modern graphical modeling tools to help them easily create MOSES models and better plan and understand marine simulations.”

The new release of MOSES builds on its proven hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis capabilities and provides major enhancements in vessel and platform modeling, simulation script management, visualization, and information mobility. Interoperability improvements include an enhanced ability to import SACS structural models into MOSES, enabling collaborative workflows among offshore structural engineering and naval architecture teams.

Bill Mead, engineering’s lead naval architect, Subsea Business Unit of Technip North America, said,“Having successfully used MOSES on numerous offshore installation projects since the early 1980s, I am excited by the prospect of the benefits we will gain by Bentley’s commitment to the ongoing development of MOSES. The new tools for editing and modeling should be a significant help to our team.”
