Bentley Offers WaterGEMS V8i SELECTseries 6

bentley_logoLONDON, UK, (The Year in Infrastructure 2015 Conference), Nov 3, 2015 – The V8i (SELECTseries 6) release of WaterGEMS, Bentley’s water distribution analysis and design software, in August of 2015, provides hydraulic modeling and SCADA integration that enables more effective engineering and operational decisions for water utilities.

Both engineering and operational teams will be able to leverage the SCADA and hydraulic modelling integration. Engineering teams will benefit from operational context to assist design decisions and operators will better understand how their assets are performing under different operating scenarios. Capabilities of WaterGEMS V8i (SELECTseries 6) include:

  • The ability to connect to an unlimited number of SCADA signals to enable the use of live and historical data from their SCADA system.
  • Operator access to easily modify the model, which can be done directly on their HMI screen, and perform various what-if simulations.
  • New emergency response functionality to allow operators to quickly simulate their network’s response to emergencies such as pipe breaks or fires, enabling responders to be better prepared for emergencies.
  • Network demand calculations to help operators determine the water demand for simulations, and scale it up or down if necessary.

  • Greatly improved field reports and drawings to help operators improve flushing planning.

Gregg Herrin, director of product management, hydraulics and hydrology, Bentley Systems, said, “With this new release, we are making it much easier for operators to benefit from optioneering as they evaluate and visualize predictions for the water system they control, directly within the operational user environment they regularly employ.”
