Bentley Announces Catalog Services CONNECT Edition

bentley_logoLONDON, UK, (The Year in Infrastructure 2015 Conference), Nov 3, 2015 – Engineering professionals can significantly reduce the time required to start new projects with fast, managed access to find and share information-rich model content through an extensive collection of high quality content from manufacturers, standards bodies, and project teams with Catalog Services, a CONNECT Edition Cloud Service. This cloud-based service delivers the ability to manage access and to customize catalog content to ensure that the right content is used on each project and only authorized participants can add, edit,or share content.

“Content from Catalog Services can be used across projects ensuring consistency and saving project teams time. Users can incorporate their own related organization-specific catalogs and incorporate standard-manufacturer content like procurement details, specifications or operations manuals for access and reuse.  Moreover, the content remains valuable beyond design and construction,as critical asset information can be captured and prepared for use in operations,” explained Santanu Das, Senior Vice President, Design & Simulations, Business Unit Management, Bentley Systems, Inc.

Catalog Services is now available through a Limited Access Program. Key capabilities include:

  • Access to catalog content within design applications, to ensure that project teams are using approved, consistent content throughout projects
  • Search functionality for all related information and documents through the design model, such as product descriptions and specifications, engineering drawings, images, installation and operations manuals, and component performance criteria
  • Ability to attach organization specific and proprietary information to each catalog item including prepared maintenance plans, installation guidelines, and cost details.
  • Access to catalog content throughout the project lifecycle to enable better decision-making about cost, performance, and availability.

With Catalog Services, project teams throughout the asset lifecycle can more easily and reliably manage and share catalog content and the rich associated information required to safely and cost-effectively design, build, and operate those assets.
