AspenTech Collaborates with EDRC of Seoul National University

aspentech_logoBEDFORD, MA, Oct 19, 2015 – Aspen Technology, Inc., a leading provider of software and services to the process industries, today announced that the company will form a collaborative technical partnership with the Engineering Development Research Center (EDRC) of Seoul National University.

Antonio Pietri, President and CEO, AspenTech, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the EDRC today at the US-Korea Business Innovation Forum, in advance of South Korean President Geun-hye’s fourth summit meeting with President Obama. The AspenTech EDRC MoU will continue the development of Korea-customized AspenTech customer training programs, as well as support process engineering graduate student internships and other initiatives including joint research and development programs.

AspenTech’s partnership with EDRC is a continuation of the company’s long-standing tradition of collaborating with the academic community to drive innovation and advancement in process manufacturing.  Since its founding as a result of an MIT/Department of Energy project in 1981, AspenTech has worked with hundreds of the world’s leading engineering universities, including Columbia University, MIT, Tufts University, the University of Massachusetts, and Virginia Tech.  And the AspenTech Academy, a corporate advisory network of renowned university professors, also works to research new chemical engineering practices and prepare students to enter the process industry workforce.
