Applied Software Launches 360 Sync for BIM

AppliedSoftware_logoATLANTA, GA, Dec 3, 2015 – Applied Software, a leading systems integrator to the AEC, construction and manufacturing industries, today announced the launch of 360 Sync, a patent-pending platform for rapid custom development and deployment of BIM 360 Field data to back office systems.

360 Sync gives developers the ability to accelerate creation of sync functionality for transferring information from BIM 360 Field directly to most back office systems. This reduces the laborious task of transferring data manually and allows Applied Software clients to develop custom workflow solutions at a more competitive price. Using the 360 Sync platform, Applied Software has successfully developed 360 Sync with Windows and 360 Sync with Viewpoint. The two products are now available for implementation and can be leveraged for immediate efficiency gains in the document management process.

360 Sync with Windows allows for easy integration between Microsoft Windows Explorer-based storage systems and BIM 360 Field programs. Files stored on a PC/server are automatically updated in the BIM 360 Field library. This process significantly reduces the time, effort and number of potential human errors associated with manually managing the flow of documents.

“BIM 360 Field is the gold standard when it comes to cloud-based field management tools used in the construction industry,” said Richard Burroughs, president and CEO of Applied Software. “360 Sync builds on its strengths to further improve productivity and seamlessly integrate data management systems.”

360 Sync with Viewpoint, also built on the 360 Sync platform, works seamlessly with Viewpoint construction software. Project managers can easily upload information, whether at the jobsite or in the office, and the information is then automatically shared and synced bi-directionally with the associated BIM 360 Field library and Viewpoint Library, enabling everyone associated with the project access to the data they need when they need it. Other features include:

  • Integration with storage services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, One Drive, and others.
  • The ability to create bidirectional syncing between multiple platforms.
  • Development of solutions for BIM 360 Field can now be developed more rapidly with the use of 360 Sync.

“The goal with 360 Sync was to make it even easier for construction managers to access and use data from anywhere in the world without having to worry about accuracy or redundancy,” said Burroughs. “We’re excited to bring 360 Sync to the market and to work with our customers as they improve their operations through better data management.”
