MALMÖ, Sweden, Jan 20, 2015 – BIMobject announce that former Autodesk and CAiCE executive, Alan Akman will join the executive management team. He will be based out of San Francisco, California. Alan Akman brings extensive experience in working with federal, state, local government organizations and private engineering companies in planning, design, engineering, construction and facilities management.
Alan Akman has an extensive track record as a leader and an entrepreneur. A true pioneer of 3D modeling software, he founded CAiCE Software Corporation, in 1989. CAiCE was already a revolutionary CAD package based on object oriented design and a database for transportation and civil engineering professionals. Using smart and parametric objects, it was the predecessor to BIM. During these years, he built very strong, synergetic and lasting partnerships with corporations like Microsoft, Intergraph, Bentley, HP, Autodesk and IBM.
CAiCE became the standard in surveying and engineering for the construction and transportation industry in the US. It was acquired by Autodesk in 2003. The last ten years Alan have been working with advanced technology companies within the 3D, virtual reality, digital marketing and asset management solutions.
Alan Akman will help BIMobject to reach its goal to become the global industry standard for connecting architects, engineers and designers with manufacturers and their digital products on their product portal and analytical solutions.
