Aguas Andinas Extends Use of Bentley’s Water Products

bentley_logoEXTON, PA, Jan 7, 2015 – Since the beginning of 2014, Bentley has seen impressive growth in Latin America welcoming many new users. Existing user Aguas Andinas, one of the largest users of Bentley water products in South America, has expanded its use of Bentley’s product portfolio.

Mr. Jhonier Santamaria Neira, project engineer, Aguas Andinas, said, “The experience of our Planning and Mathematical Models department with Bentley software began more than 10 years ago. Initially, we implemented hydraulic computer models for our water distribution system, including district meter areas and main water lines networks, using WaterCAD and WaterGEMS. This year, the company has decided to acquire new licenses of SewerGEMS to leverage our knowledge of the user interface, reporting tools and scenario management, in master planning, diagnostic, and optimization studies of our metropolitan sewer system.”

At Aguas Andinas, conducting hydraulic simulations of its systems has always been crucial in decision making for master planning, operational optimization, and infrastructure evaluation. Aguas Andinas is a private water utility located in the Santiago de Chile metropolitan area. It serves a population of more than 6 million and is responsible for the management and operation of 14,000 kilometers of water distribution networks and 12,000 kilometers of wastewater collection networks.
