UK's Xype Gets ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Oct 2, 2008 - Despite the tough economic climate, a Bristol based
software company continues to thrive through its unstinting commitment to
quality. Xype, whose clients include engineering and aerospace organizations
across the UK and Europe, has recently been awarded the prestigious ISO
9001:2000 certificate in recognition of the high standard of the Quality
Management System it operates.
 Xype
develops and supports hi tech Engineering IT software for industry leading
companies such as Airbus/EADS, BAE Systems, GE Aviation and Bombardier. The
scope for the ISO accreditation was “in recognition of sales, marketing,
development, consultancy and customer training of application software for
the aerospace and general engineering industries.”
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System is managed by the British
Standards Institute and requires systems to be put in place for all aspects
of the business to ensure quality of service as well as complete business
traceability.
Speaking about the achievement Anna Green, Quality Manager at Xype, said:
“Going through the ISO accreditation was a valuable learning process for the
whole company. We started in September last year and have worked hard in
ensuring every element of the criteria was covered. Going through the
process has helped us to standardise and formalise our internal systems and
has reassured us and our customers that the processes we have in place
satisfy the required industry standards.”
Established in 2002, Xype has grown significantly in recent years and now
employs more than 60 people at its base in Filton, Bristol - a 5,000 sq ft
facility which has a direct network connection into the Airbus UK site and
its sales and administration office just outside Weston-super-Mare.
