Great Lakes 3D to Sell VX
 MELBOURNE, FL, Mar
4, 2008 - VX Corporation, specializing in CAD/CAM for consumer products and
molds, announces the addition of Great Lakes 3D CAD/CAM as its newest US
reseller.
Great Lakes 3D will build on the strong relationships developed by its
founder and owner, Randy Biebel, who owned and operated a mold & die shop in
the area for many years and has helped many businesses get started with VX
CAD/CAM during his tenure as a VX sales engineer in the mid-eastern region.
Randy’s desire to help local manufacturers was the driving force for
establishing Great Lakes 3D CAD/CAM. This region was once considered the
heart of the US mold making industry but the area suffered a downturn in the
1990’s as much of the mold business moved offshore. With the adoption of
advanced technology and software, local mold makers are proving they can
successfully compete with offshore mold makers and are experiencing a
revival of the industry in this area. Great Lakes 3D is built on the idea of
helping these manufacturers continue their comeback by delivering superior
CAD/CAM products and services that help build better quality molds while
reducing overall design and manufacturing costs.
Great Lakes 3D will work closely with the Erie Institute of Technology in
Erie, Pennsylvania (www.erieit.edu) to
establish a regional VX CAD/CAM training center. The Erie Institute of
Technology has recently added six new manufacturing programs and a new
50,000 square foot training center with computer labs running VX. “Having
the Erie Institute of Technology in our reseller’s backyard is a real
advantage to our customers,” said Bob Fischer, VX VP of Sales and Marketing.
“With access to the level of training Erie Institute will be providing,
local manufacturers will really be able to speed their adoption of the
advanced mold design and machining capabilities of VX.“
Great Lakes 3D CAD/CAM will be demonstrating advanced VX mold design and
machining techniques at the Erie Tool
Show, April 15-16 at the new Bayfront Convention Center in Erie,
Pennsylvania.
