Vero to Launch PEPS v6.0 at Makino Die Mold Tech Expo

software for mold and die design and plastic injection molding industries,
announces it will launch its PEPS Version 6.0 at the
Makino Die Mold
Technology Expo at Makino’s Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI September
25 – 27, 2007. Last year, Vero acquired Camtek, a UK-based CAM software
developer with a specialty for machine tools. Its PEPS (Production
Engineering Productivity System) Solid-Cut CAM software is used extensively
to generate high quality CNC programs for prismatic, 3D milling, turning,
wire EDM, and multi-axis lasers.
PEPS Version 6.0 includes new model data technology integration for the
complete Makino wire EDM machine series. User-definable surface finish data
can be entered for each cutting technology and used as a technology search
criteria. A simple post-processor dialog interface allows pre-selection of
model data language, measurement system, type and version for each
individual machine model. This addition provides the correct Makino
technology cutting data that is relevant to the owner’s machine tool.
For the SP machine series, the High Energy Applied Technology (HEAT) is a
new wire EDM technology from Makino that increases wire EDM cutting speeds
in poor flushing conditions by up to 40 percent. It is available as a
retrofit on Makino wire EDM machines or as an upgrade. Model data technology
is included, exploiting the full potential of Makino’s latest cutting
technology from inside the PEPS CAM system.
Vero representatives will also demonstrate Vero’s latest VISI-Series line
of software for high-speed milling machines. VISI-Machining integrates 2D
design with machining and provides the necessary design and machining tools
for 2D milling, pocketing with islands, profiling, and complex machining
cycles for all drilling strategies on wireframe geometry.
