TriStar Adds Ex-PTC Channel Mgr Tim Murdoch to EVP Sales

PHOENIX, AZ, Jun 16, 2009 - TriStar Inc. is pleased to announce that it has appointed Tim Murdoch to the position of executive vice president of sales and has again expanded its regional support across the United States.

Murdoch, who is based in Pittsburgh, brings to TriStar eight years of experience with PTC, where he most recently held the position of senior North American channel director - strategic partners and programs. With his new role, he is tasked with increasing the company’s capacity across North America and implementing a development plan to strengthen its existing team.

“I joined TriStar because (TriStar President) Pat Maderia is a fantastic entrepreneur with great vision,” Murdoch said. “TriStar has a great foundation upon which to build, and I saw a huge potential to help take the company to a completely new level of performance.”

With more and more companies adopting Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill software solutions, along with PTC’s desire to transfer more of their direct business to resellers, there has been a demonstrated need for substantial growth in the VAR channel. To meet this demand, TriStar will fill out its team with knowledgeable sales executives and technical professionals with expertise in all the company’s business units – software, training, consulting services, staffing, maintenance, and hardware.

“Tim brings with him a vast amount of experience and some incredible relationships with PTC,” said Maderia. “By forging a closer partnership with PTC and with Tim leading our sales force, I’m confident we will take TriStar to the next level.”

“A larger geographic footprint and a more solid foundation are obviously essential to our growth and profitability,” said Murdoch. “But it is just as important to our customers and the CAD/CAM market as a whole to have access to the unmatched resources, expertise, and stability that TriStar provides.”

The company has appointed four new account managers. Kyle O’Connor is based in the Boston area and will serve the northeastern U.S. Jeff Kocik is located in Orlando and will support Florida. Roger Aulicino, who is based in Phoenix, will handle Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and southern Nevada. Darin Clark of Houston will serve Louisiana and parts of Texas. TriStar also recently added sales professionals and technical resources to support the northwest U.S. region.
