SYCODE Launches Point Cloud for Bricscad
PANAJI,
GOA, India, Feb 18, 2009 - SYCODE today launched Point Cloud for Bricscad, a
reverse engineering plug-in for Bricscad.
"Although it does have significant 3D capabilities, Bricscad is mainly
used as a 2D drafting system", explains Deelip Menezes, Founder and CEO of
SYCODE. “Point Cloud for Bricscad will go a long way to increase the 3D
capabilities of Bricscad even further and help put it to good use in other
areas as well. This powerful plug-in gives Bricscad users the power to
reverse engineer 3D digital models from physical parts and scan data.”

Using a digitizer or a 3D scanner a Bricscad user can scan a physical
part and record points on its surface to arrive at a point cloud.
Thereafter, Point Cloud for Bricscad can be used to drape a surface along a
particular direction or wrap a mesh all around the point cloud to create a
watertight model. While wrapping a mesh around a point cloud, the plug-in
treats concave and convex meshes differently, thereby giving the user a
higher degree of control over the final surface mesh. This plug-in allows
Bricscad to be employed in a manner way different than what it was
originally designed for.
Point Cloud for Bricscad is designed to work with the Professional as
well as Classic version of Bricscad V8 and V9. Priced at $195 the plug-in is
available as a fully functional 10 day/run trial. It comes with an installer
and detailed documentation in the form of a compiled HTML help file which
contains a step-by-step tutorial to get the end user started in the shortest
possible time.
