CONCORD, Massachusetts, March 27, 2007 - Irish Department of Education will announce purchase of 25,000 licenses of SolidWorks software at kickoff event.

CAD for Education initiative to expand technology education in second-level schools, grow pool of skilled local engineers

WHO: t4 - Technology Subjects Support Service, Ireland’s teacher support and training division in the Irish Department of Education, along with authorized SolidWorks reseller Solid Solutions Ireland

WHAT: t4 will officially launch CAD for Education, a sweeping country-wide initiative aimed at increasing the number of skilled engineers in Ireland. The department of education purchased 25,000 licenses of SolidWorks 3D CAD software to deploy in 500 second-level schools to enhance CAD, communication graphics, and engineering curricula. SolidWorks will be the only 3D CAD software taught in second-level schools in Ireland. For more information about the initiative, visit the t4 Web site at www.t4.ie.
