Australia's Delineate to Sell solidThinking Products
TROY,
MI, Nov 2, 2009 - Global industrial design/styling software company
solidThinking, Inc.
has signed Delineate Pty Ltd. to market, sell and support solidThinking –
the industrial design community’s most user-centric product design tool – in
Australia and New Zealand. Delineate, one of Australia’s leading 3D
specialists, is the latest software provider to join solidThinking’s growing
roster of value-added resellers (VAR).
“Delineate is very pleased to offer solidThinking in Australia,” said
Robert Veitch, Managing Director of Delineate. “I think the powerful
modeling tools, integrated rendering and easy-to-use interface will be a big
hit in Australia. I see it as one of the best kept secrets in the design
world, and we are finding everyone who tried it is really impressed. We
intend to make sure it isn’t a secret for long.”
The Delineate team consists of many experts, including some of the
pioneers of the digital design process. Staffed primarily by designers and
not sales people, Delineate offers customers solutions to improve their
design process. Customers include product, packaging, automotive,
architectural, furniture, marine, defense and many others.
“We are proud to be working with Delineate and are confident this
partnership will speak directly to an audience that will benefit from
solidThinking’s advanced capabilities,” said Jim Hassberger, solidThinking’s
vice president of business development and customer relations. “Expansion
into Australia and New Zealand is a very exciting development for
solidThinking.”
solidThinking’s NURBS-based 3D conceptual design software, including
recently released solidThinking 8.0 and solidThinking 8.0 Inspired, aims to
inspire innovation in industrial designers and architects through a number
of new and advanced features, including progressive rendering; new 3D
manipulators for translation, scaling and rotation; a highly intuitive user
interface; high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) capabilities; and more. It also
embodies a best-in-class Construction Tree technology that allows designers
to experiment in real time without having to start from scratch when they
change their minds, high-quality photorealistic imaging capabilities for
realistic design visualization, global illumination and more. solidThinking
is available on both Windows and Mac operating systems and is compatible
with leading computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering
(CAD/CAM/CAE) software, encouraging improved collaboration between
industrial designers and engineers during the product development cycle.
The premiere release of solidThinking 8.0 Inspired also includes a new
technology, morphogenesis, which mimics processes and physical laws in
nature to help designers and architects generate forms and structures in
response to environmental conditions, and leverage the results to stimulate
their designs.
"Delineate is really focused on bringing the latest 3D technology to the
design and marketing areas,” said Veitch. “Delineate aims to allow the
benefits of 3D modeling to be realized much earlier in the design process.
In this regard, solidThinking is a perfect fit. Having used many 3D modeling
tools, there isn’t anything faster to learn and more intuitive than
solidThinking. We think it’s a great product.”
