SolidCAM to Unveil Electrode Solution at SW World

Feb 3, 2009 - Hartford, Connecticut - SolidCAM, the leading and
fastest-growing CAM system running in SolidWorks 3D CAD software, will
reveal their latest highly-automated electrode design and manufacturing
solution at SolidWorks World 2009. This new capability for Moldmakers is
totally integrated in SolidWorks and is directly in line with the automation
theme at SolidWorks World 2009 International User Conference and Exposition.
Held February 8 - 11, in Orlando, FL at the Walt Disney World Swan &
Dolphin, SolidWorks World is the world’s largest annual 3D CAD event.
SolidCAM is the Gold-Certified integrated CAM engine running inside
SolidWorks software and provides seamless, single-window integration and
full associativity with SolidWorks. Sidney Eisner, better known as the
“SolidCAM Professor”, will be on hand to show and explain the power and time
savings of Automated Electrode Machining in booth 610 of the Partner
Pavilion. This will also accompany other major advances featured in the
preview of SolidCAM 2009.
SolidCAM’s electrode solution automates time-consuming and repetitive
tasks in the Electrode Design and Manufacturing process, including geometry
extraction, documentation and machining.
- Electrode Design Automation - SolidCAM facilitates the design of 3D
solid electrodes from flexible surface extensions. The software offers
an easy to follow, step-by-step process and addresses all types of
electrodes from the common to the most complex. It supports existing
libraries of blanks and holders as well as professional documentation
for the operator. Even the most experienced electrode designer will
benefit from the knowledge-driven automation provided by SolidCAM.
- Electrode Manufacturing Automation - Once the electrode design is
finished, SolidCAM starts the machining of the electrode in the
SolidWorks window. SolidCAM supports a wide range of 2.5D milling, 3D
milling and HSM strategies to manufacture every type of electrode.
SolidCAM supports the generation of rough and finish electrodes and
leverages the use of templates of machining strategies to generate
optimal and efficient toolpaths.

automation and user-control to finish the electrodes with high quality and
