Simmetrix Adds Meshing Support to Simulation Modeling Suite
CLIFTON
PARK, NY, Jul 23, 2009 – Simmetrix Inc., the leading provider of
component software for simulation-based design and CAD/CAE
integration, today announced Simulation Modeling Suite support of
extended capabilities in the area of parallel mesh generation.
Increasing mesh requirements for simulation models have resulted in a
need for mesh generation to better take advantage of advancing computing
environments. These computing environments may range from multi-core desktop
systems to HPC clusters.
The Simulation Modeling Suite provides a unique architecture for
providing parallel meshing capabilities for both multi-threaded applications
and MPI based applications for distributed memory parallel applications.
This unique approach does not rely on “hard” geometric partitioning or on
subdivision of the domain into a large number of parts. The ability of this
approach to address a single complex volume lends itself well to far field
applications such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational
Electro-Magnetics (CEM), and Computational Aero-Acoustics (CAA).
“We have seen a significant reduction of meshing time on multi-core
systems due to the multi-threaded mesh generation now available from
Simmetrix”, says Craig Brett, Sr. Software Developer at Infolytica
Corporation. “We plan to use this advanced meshing functionality along with
our multi-threaded solver functionality to provide our customers the best
possible performance on multi-core systems.”
The multi-threaded and MPI based parallel meshing capabilities are
provided through the MeshSim and Parallel MeshSim modules of the Simulation
Modeling Suite. The Simulation Modeling Suite provides a toolkit approach
for simulation modeling with an object oriented API interface, and is
currently licensed by a broad range of commercial independent software
vendors and internal development organizations.
About Simmetrix Inc.
Simmetrix Inc. is a leading provider of OEM component technology,
software tools, and services for Simulation-Based Design and CAD/CAE
integration. Simmetrix’ customers include simulation modeling software
developers that provide a broad range of analysis applications including
mechanical, electro-magnetic, fluids (CFD), and MEMS simulation. Simmetrix’
flagship product is the Simulation Modeling Suite, a comprehensive suite of
component software tools to support Simulation Modeling directly from solid
models providing problem definition, attribute management, CAE results
management, and automatic mesh generation with support of mesh curving, mesh
adaptivity, and anisotropic boundary layer mesh generation. The Simmetrix
tools enable automated creation and management of simulation data suitable
for finite element, finite volume, and boundary element analysis directly
from design data.
Simmetrix, founded in 1997, has offices in Clifton Park, NY and
Clarkesville, GA.
