CESENA,
Italy, Sep 24, 2008 - ENGINEERING PLM Solutions have confirmed that
RuleDesigner PDM v2008, RuleDesigner Configurator v2008 and RuleDesigner
document v2008 are available for SolidWorks 2009. Companies using the
RuleDesigner technology can take immediate advantage of the speed and
productivity enhancements in SolidWorks 2009.
The latest release of SolidWorks is very recent but ENGINEERING PLM
Solutions has already ensured that RuleDesigner Suite is ready for
SolidWorks 2009.
RuleDesigner Suite has received the status of SolidWorks Solutions
Partner product. RuleDesigner is a set of stand-alone yet interoperable
solutions to help computer aided design (CAD) users in four different areas:
product configuration, part classification, PDM and task automation
About RuleDesigner
The RuleDesigner Suite is a set of PLM applications that, capturing the
rules on how company define, design, produce and sell their products, allow
CAD users to concentrate effort on their preferred activity: designing
innovative and successful products. RuleDesigner PDM simplifies and
automates process and product configuration, attributes and part numbers
definitions, vaulting, ECOs and all the repetitive and time consuming tasks,
such as drawing, printing, file conversion, PDF creation and more.
Based on the concept of capturing a company's know-how through rules, the
RuleDesigner Suite can automate many of the activities that CAD users
execute when they design new products. Allowing them to concentrate on the
design process itself, rather than spending hours filling in product
information, is the primary benefit of RuleDesigner Suite. Users can access
the RuleDesigner Suite directly from within the users interface of
SolidWorks 2009 3D CAD software.
The modular packaging of RuleDesigner PDM allows companies of any size to
benefit from its functionalities. As an example, engineers and designers can
use RuleDesigner PDM and SolidWorks to automate the generation of part
numbers for each new component, and be driven by a simple user interface in
the definition of the attributes that are relevant for specific categories.
Company standards can be defined and rules can be set to automate the
attributes assignment in order to minimize user input and dramatically
reduce the possibilities for mistakes. Part descriptions can be
automatically generated by compounding other attributes, ensuring
consistency and avoiding the duplication of components under different
part-numbers.
