Radan Announces v8 for Sheet Metal Applications

Jan 30, 2008 - Radan announces Radan 08, the latest version of Radan
Computational industry-leading CAD/CAM software for sheet metal
applications, incorporates a wealth of new functionality to maximize
material utilization and reduce cycle times.
Windows Vista compatible, Radan 08 offers extensive technology upgrades
and performance improvements. Included in the update is support for the
latest 3D CAD file translators, resulting in further added functionality
such as material thickness auto detect and joggle support for RadbendCNC.
Radraft customers will also notice enhancements that include support for
AutoCAD 2008 .dwg files in addition to color mapping and filtering during
import. CAD draughts men will appreciate the enhanced geometry and smart
shapes' functions.
Radan 08 also incorporates further improvements in the handling of partly
used sheets, thereby reducing material wastage. Off cuts can be
automatically recorded for later use by Radan's Remnant Nesting tools and
the nester will evaluate all stored remnants before selecting the best one
to use.
Significant enhancements to order mode performance ensure increased
efficiency when producing NC programs for punching and profiling machines.
For example, producing a part comprising 11406 lines and arcs in 2862
profiles in Radan 07, took a total processing time of 4mins 9.29s Radan 08
accomplished this in just 26.92s. Further functionality includes improved
support for shearing machines and pierce variants for profiling machines,
resulting in ultimate control over the cutting process.
