Oce CS4100 Color Scanners Gets BERTL 4 Star Rating
TRUMBULL,
CT, Aug 1, 2008 - Oce, an international leader in digital document
management and delivery solutions, today announced the Oce CS4100 series
large format color scanners have been awarded a Highly Recommended 4-Star
BERTL rating, joining the Oce TDS450 and Oce TCS500 large format printers as
Oce products included in this distinctive category.
Each
year, independent BERTL research analysts review hundreds of devices,
assigning their highly recommended rating to a select few that deliver a
range of business-critical features and functions that are above average and
provide potential buyers with a good return on investment.
“Earning this 4-star rating is a testament to the uncompromising
performance and feature-rich design of the Oce CS4100 scanner series,” said
Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division
of Oce North America. “Our goal is to provide highly reliable scanning
solutions that offer maximum scanning flexibility, productivity and color
capture accuracy. BERTL’s acknowledgement of these traits in the Oce CS4100
series reinforces we’ve achieved this goal.”
Award Winning Products Deliver a Versatile Solution, Exceptional
Quality
A family of ten scanners, the Oce CS4100 series offers devices with scan
widths of either 36”, 42” or 54”. A high speed S version more than doubles
the color scanning speed for the standard version from 0.6 ips to 1.5 ips at
200 dpi. Maximum resolution of the standard and S versions is 1200 dpi.
There is also an enhanced quality Q version that has a maximum resolution of
9,600 dpi. Software options include either Oce Scan; an inexpensive, basic
scan-to-file application that is easy to use and features scan-to-PDF
functionality; or Oce Color Copy, a flexible, feature-rich software that
creates a copier out of a scanner and a printer in addition to full
scan-to-file functionality. Users can interface with most Oce and non-Oce
wide format printers and connect any number of printers to a single scanner.
“BERTL’s 4-star Highly Recommended ratings are reserved for products that
exceed expectations to deliver end users with exceptional quality and a
sound investment,” said Margie Davis, Managing Director of BERTL. "After
thorough evaluation, the Oce CS4100 scanner series emerged as one of the
handful of devices deserving of our 4-star rating.”
BERTL touts the Oce CS4100 scanner series as feature-rich, reliable and
high-quality with a color capture accuracy that is among the best in the
industry. According to BERTL, “They operate smoothly and, with the scanners’
high reliability, they should provide trouble-free operation for years to
come.” These traits support BERTL’s recommendation of the Oce CS4100 series
for CAD, GIS, graphic arts, photo lab and reprographic applications.
BERTL recognized the following distinct advantages of the Oce CS4100
series scanners to end-users:
- The calibration procedure is the most comprehensive and automated in
the wide format scanner industry.
- Color calibration can be performed by an operator that does not have
specific knowledge of color calibration.
- Oce Scan software is a professional scanning tool that gets the job
done.
- Every control and dialog box is organized in a very structured way,
enabling a short learning curve.
- Pixel level precision cropping and alignment of the image.
- Flexible scan-to-file, scan-to-viewer, scan-to-net, and scan
to-batch feature.
- Easily upgradeable from the Base version to the Q version.
