workstations and servers, announce a speedier dual core processor option on
all NextDimension model flextops and select Vigor rugged portable computers.
Intel Xeon dual-core 5240 processor clocks 3.0 GHz, an impressive speed on
any computer, unprecedented on a portable line up like this. The addition is
ideal for NextComputing customers looking for optimal processor performance
in a small, portable form factor.
 The
Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor 5200 Series is intended for high-performance
servers and workstations and utilizes two 45-nm Hi-k next generation Intel Core™
microarchitecture cores. The processor is manufactured on Intel’s 45 nanometer
process technology combining high performance with the power efficiencies of
low-power microarchitecture. At only 40 watts, the processor maintains
NextComputing’s dedication to greener computing solutions.
Some key features include on-die, primary 32-kB instruction cache, 32-kB
write-back data cache in each core, and 6 MB Level 2 cache with Intel Advanced
Smart Cache architecture. Intel Thermal Monitor 1 and Intel Thermal Monitor
provide efficient and effective cooling in high temperature situations. Enhanced
Intel SpeedStep Technology provides power management capabilities to servers and
workstations.
NextComputing recognizes the importance of virtualization in today’s
