Nemetschek Scia Launches 6th International User Contest
HERK-DE-STAD,
Belgium, Aug 15, 2008 - Together with the Nemetschek Engineering Group, the
construction software developer Scia, with its headquarters in Herk-de-Stad,
Belgium, gives the starting shot for the sixth edition of its International
User Contest. All construction projects designed with software from the
Nemetschek Engineering Group are accepted. Over the years, this User Contest
has become a famous event which users look forward to and that gets a lot of
credit from the international press.
Novelties
This
sixth edition will be more international than ever and has a wider-ranging
scoop this year: the User Contest is open to all customer projects that make
use of the software programs from the larger Nemetschek Engineering Group,
especially Scia, Allplan, Frilo and Glaser. That is also why this contest
has a new name: the “Nemetschek Engineering User Contest 2009”. This year
there are also other novelties such as the new contest categories and the
increased prize money.
Contest categories
Jean-Pierre Rammant, CEO of Nemetschek Scia, explains: “As usual the User
Contest has a number of categories in which construction projects can
participate. Since all customers of the Nemetschek Engineering Group as a
whole can take part, the categories are extended to:
- CAE - Constructive elements
- CAE - Housing and buildings
- CAE - Civil works
- CAE - Industrial buildings and plants
- CAE - Special projects
- CAD - Engineering and buildings
- CAD - Engineering, engineering works and special structures”
He continues, “Of course it is possible to submit more than one project.
A professional international jury will evaluate the projects on originality,
level of difficulty, technical level and the application of the used
software. The 2007 edition was a great success and attracted as much as 99
participating projects from 11 countries. With the launch of 2009 we aim to
attract even more participants from even more countries.”
Advantages for the participants
This contest offers all participants a unique chance to show the world
the result of their technical knowledge and professional skill since the
results will be published in the splendid ‘Nemetschek Engineering User
Contest Book’. As many as 13,000 copies will be printed and distributed.
Nominated and winning projects will be sent on to the international press
for publication in magazines and on the Internet; they are distributed in
more than 50,000 newsletters in 5 languages and are mentioned on the
websites of the Nemetschek Engineering Group. Moreover, the winning project
in every of the 7 categories will be rewarded with a cheque to the value of
1,250€.
Taking part in the contest
Participating is simple since most of the projects have already been
elaborated by the customer and as a result most of the work is already done.

Nemetschek Scia, the contest coordinator. The closing date for entries is
November 30, 2008. More practical information and information on registering
