MWH Soft Announces International User Group Conference
BROOMFIELD,
CO, Jan 29, 2009 - MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and
water resources applications software, today announced the dates of the
2009 MWH Soft International User Group Conference (IUGC). The unique
event, which brings the MWH Soft community together under one roof, will be
held August 27-29, 2009 in Reno, NV, USA, immediately preceding the American
Water Works Association’s annual Distribution Systems Symposium (DSS).
The theme of the 2009 event is “Advanced Network Modeling to Reduce
Capital and Operational Expenses…The Power of Less” and will focus on using
MWH Soft software to optimize utilities management during tough economic
times. Presentations will be geared toward achieving operational,
engineering and planning efficiencies and cost savings through the use of
hydraulic modeling, computerized asset management/capital planning, and
automated pipeline design.
Regarding the timing and location of the event, MWH Soft Director of
Marketing Adam Simonsen noted, “Many members of our user community already
attend the AWWA (DSS). In this difficult economic climate, we wanted our
customers to receive as much learning and information as possible for one
travel budget. We are excited about the opportunities this event offers
them, and we think they will be, too.”
Today through March 15th, 2009, MWH Soft users can submit abstracts to be
considered for presentation at the event. Submission of abstracts for
multiple projects is encouraged. Special consideration will be given to
projects that demonstrate economic savings.
“We are always astounded by our clients’ level of innovation in using our
software, and humbled by their passion and commitment to this industry,”
said keynote speaker and MWH Soft President Dr. Paul Boulos. “We are excited
to see this year’s submissions, and look forward to creating a seminal event
from which our users can learn and grow.”
The conference will include demonstrations of the latest releases of MWH
Soft’s industry-leading water and urban drainage design and modeling
software, along with condition and risk assessment solutions for investment
planning. A highlight will be the presentation of the company’s new
automated detailed (horizontal and vertical alignment) pipeline design
application, which includes complete profile and plan drawing generation.
The agenda will also feature hands-on software demonstrations, discussions
of business implementation and management issues, industry solutions
presentations, technology updates, and social and networking events.
“This is a fun and educational event, guaranteed to energize and
inspire,” said Boulos. “It provides a wonderful forum for sharing best
practices and exploring the state of the art in water and wastewater
infrastructure engineering, design, and management solutions created to help
solve everyday challenges and problems. As attendees carry this valuable
learning experience back to their organizations, they can open new avenues
not only for increasing productivity and performance, enhancing project
quality and maximizing return on their software investments, but gaining a
competitive edge on the future, advancing their careers, and improving the
quality of life in their communities.”
