MultiSTEEL Offshore Available for Structural Detailing
HOUSTON,
TX, Apr 24, 2009 - The MultiSTEEL Offshore application from MultiSUITE Software offers a fresh
take on offshore detailing and modeling software by incorporating a Tubular or
Pipe connections module.

Developed specifically for steel detailing and fabrication of structures in
the offshore and process engineering industries, ‘MultiSTEEL Offshore’
simplifies drawing and production of even the most complex of designs. It
achieves this by automating time-consuming tasks (such as calculations) and by
incorporating a number of useful tools (as for irregular plate profiling).

Staff from client, Siemens VAI Technologies, using MultiSTEEL Offshore on
detailing process industry plants, commented recently that the software was able
to speed up the drawing process proving to be “…excellent tools. Where
previously we designed and detailed structures in 2D we now use…MultiSTEEL
across the board…the man-hours are vastly reduced…”

The tubular and pipe connections module offers an intuitive user environment
for design options. Pipes can be shown in all orientations in 3D and edited in
any style, and drawing outputs can be fully customized to user requirements,
such as wrap-around templates or cutting and CNC machinery output files. The
software also links to other industry applications for analysis and design.
The main benefit of MultiSTEEL Tubular connections module is that it can
potentially increase the safety ratings of connections and generate significant
long-term savings on replacement and repair of structures, because pipe
connections present fewer edges on which corrosion can act when compared to
regular plate welding.
MultiSTEEL applications are available both as an add-on to any existing
AutoCAD and as a ‘standalone’ line, MultiSUITE CAD, incorporating AutoCAD (OEM)
Technology in one package.
