INUS to Launch Rapidform XOV2/Verifier at Japan Expo
SEOUL,
South Korea, June 20, 2008 - INUS Technology, Inc., the developer of
Rapidform 3D scanning software, today announced that it will feature its
latest inspection software applications at the 19th
Design Engineering &
Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS) in Tokyo, Japan, June 25 - 27, 2008.
At the event, INUS Technology will officially launch Rapidform
XOV2/Verifier. The company will also highlight its newly-released SolidWorks
add-in, InspectWorks.
Calvin J. Hur, senior vice president of marketing & global sales for INUS
Technology, stated, "In the year since the last DMS exposition, we have made
massive changes to Rapidform. The latest of these advances is version two of
Rapidform XOV, which we will debut at DMS 2008. With its new functionality
and automation, Rapidform XOV2 will change the way that 3D scanning quality
control software performs. Inspection will be available to designers and
engineers, not just dedicated metrologists.
According to Hur, XOV2 uses a "feature-based quality inspection" concept
that makes it easier and more efficient to complete part inspections from 3D
scan data. The tools and structure of Rapidform XOV2 are designed for
professional, metrology-level inspection, yet its work-flow and interface
are extremely easy and intuitive, making XOV2 a powerful product even for
the occasional user.
XOV2 is metrology software that provides feature-based, parametric
inspection history coupled with a 3D PMI interface (Product Manufacturing
Information) that imports GD&T information defined in the CAD model. Using a
systematic approach that automates the inspection process, XOV2 offers the
highest level of repeatability and reproducibility for accurate quality
control reports.
Hur stated, "I am so proud that we are advancing our market and
technology leadership position XOV2. It presents a new paradigm for
tomorrow’s point cloud inspection software."
InspectWorks, a SolidWorks add-in that was introduced in April 2008, will
also be highlighted at the DMS expo. InspectWorks is the world’s first
application for verification of part dimensions using 3D scan data within
SolidWorks. InspectWorks is for designers and engineers with occasional
inspection and verification requirements during the product development
process, such as first article inspection and process try-out.
In less than 10 minutes, and with minimal operator intervention,
InspectWorks produces color map deviation analysis, section deviation
analysis and automatic DimXpert GD&T calculations. By leveraging the GD&T
specifications, InspectWorks provides visual feedback for pass, fail and
warning conditions relative to the manufacturing specifications.
INUS Technology will have live demonstrations of XOV2 and InspectWorks,
as well as XOS2 and XOR2, in the Rapidform booth located in DMS’s East 2
Hall (CAD/CAM&PLM/PDM Zone) stand 13-10.
