UAE Based EPC Selects Intergraph for Global Platform
HUNTSVILLE,
AL, Oct 23, 2007 - The National Petroleum Construction Co. (NPCC), the
largest local engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE), has chosen Intergraph as its corporate-wide
preferred engineering and design software provider for all onshore and
offshore oil and gas design and construction projects.
NPCC’s recent acquisition of Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise software is
being used on a major offshore engineering project for Maersk Oil Qatar AS.
The scope of work for Maersk includes design, engineering, procurement,
fabrication and offshore installation and testing of approximately 260
kilometers of submarine pipelines as well as 60 kilometers of submarine
power and communication cables. The first offshore construction phase is
scheduled to be completed later this year.
NPCC’s client list is impressive and includes many of the major
owner/operators in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt and
Yemen. They are expanding and diversifying their capabilities, and chose
Intergraph for its proven solutions, the interoperability of data throughout
asset lifecycles, and its superior product support – as well as Intergraph’s
20 years of market leadership in the Middle East.
“Intergraph is the preferred engineering solutions provider for the
National Petroleum Construction Company,” said Dr. Ahmad Kurdali,
engineering director of NPCC. “Intergraph solutions will be used for all
projects unless otherwise specified. Our company is transforming into a
major international contractor, capable of providing the offshore and
onshore oil and gas industry with complete engineering, procurement and
construction services. Our partnership with Intergraph will help us further
that goal.”
Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine, said:
“We deeply value NPCC’s relationship as part of our ongoing commitment to
the Middle East. NPCC’s decision to use SmartPlant Enterprise for its oil
and gas projects, which are among the largest in the region, is based on the
proven efficiency gains and cost-savings our solutions bring to the most
complex circumstances. The increasing adoption of our solutions in the oil
and gas industry, particularly in the Middle East, demonstrates the value
our solutions provide our customers.”
