InnovMetric Announces Speakers for PolyWorks Conference
QUEBEC CITY, QC,
Mar 27, 2008 - InnovMetric Software Inc, developer of the PolyWorks software
suite, the leading point-cloud-engineering software solution, will hold the
fourth edition of its
International PolyWorks User Meeting (IPUM) on May 29-30, 2008, in
Montreal, Canada. IPUM is the key event to attend to learn the latest
developments in the field of point cloud engineering and to discover the
latest 3D digitizing technologies available on the market.
InnovMetric is proud to count on the presence of power users from top
manufacturers in the automotive and aeronautic industries to give technical
presentations. This group of speakers is composed of Dirk Kissinger from
Opel (Germany), Lay Knoerr from General Motors (USA), Glenn Hill from Honda
R&D Americas (USA), and Chris Simmons from Rolls-Royce (UK). IPUM 2008 will
also offer technical presentations by researchers and lecturers from
universities and research centers, featuring Luis Guzman from the University
of Michigan (USA), Angelo Beraldin from the National Research Council
Canada, Ian Kennedy from the Manchester University (UK), and Karen Ryan from
the University of Minnesota (USA). Finally, the agenda includes
professionals from the manufacturing world to present case studies of real
point-cloud-engineering applications. Speakers include Bill Bonner from
Dimensional Engineering (USA), Travis Chometsky from Weatherford (Canada),
and Doug Philips from Graftech (USA). Other presentations will be announced
in the upcoming weeks.
Official sponsors
InnovMetric announces that Hexagon Metrology (NAFTA) becomes the official
Gold Sponsor of IPUM 2008. On May 29, 2008, Hexagon Metrology (NAFTA) will
sponsor the IPUM cocktail and banquet dinner. In addition, Duwe-3d (Germany)
and Tokyo Boeki Techno System (Japan) are Silver Sponsors of the event,
while Perceptron (USA), NDI (Canada), Konica Minolta (USA branch), and Exact
Metrology (USA) are Bronze Sponsors. Their valuable participation will
contribute to consolidate IPUM 2008 as a must-attend event in the 3D
scanning industry.
IPUM 2008 3D Digitizer Expo
Again this year, IPUM 2008 will host an exhibition gathering major 3D
digitizer manufacturers and service firms of the point-cloud-engineering
world. To date, thirteen exhibitors have confirmed their presence: Hexagon
Metrology (Leica T-Scan, ShankShark on ROMER arm, CogniTens), NDI, Konica
Minolta, Faro Technologies, Accurex (Breuckmann), AICON 3D Systems, CGI,
Creaform (Handyscan), Multi Metrics, Nub3D, Shapegrabber, Steinbichler, and
3D Scan IT. The grouping of these leading hardware resellers makes IPUM 2008
the most targeted event in this industry.
Registration
Registration is open to all PolyWorks users, distributors, service
bureaus, and partners. It is also open to Inspection/QA managers, engineers,
metrologists, and technicians that use other 3D metrology solutions and
would like to know more about point cloud engineering. The event also
targets the industrial designers, reverse engineering specialists, and users
of other 3D scanning software suites.
About InnovMetric Software
Founded in 1994 in Québec City, Canada, with subsidiaries in the United
States and China and distributors worldwide, InnovMetric Software Inc. has
devoted its first decade of business to developing software that transforms
high-density 3D digitizers into true metrology instruments. These efforts
have propelled PolyWorks as the standard point cloud engineering software
solution for major automotive and aeronautic OEM manufacturers and suppliers
worldwide.
Building on its robust point cloud foundation, InnovMetric has
transformed PolyWorks into a truly universal 3D metrology software platform
by integrating a wide range of hardware measurement devices, including laser
scanners, arm-based and hand-held probing devices, and laser trackers.
PolyWorks has become a global corporate solution that enables the
corporate-wide deployment of standardized methods for comparing parts to
CAD, analyzing GD&T, virtually gauging dimensions, meshing high-density
point clouds, and rapidly surfacing digitized meshes.
For increased user productivity, PolyWorks maximizes information sharing
through a free 3D viewer, allowing any individual to view inspection
results, perform basic measurements, and generate reports. Those who use
PolyWorks every day trust it for its robustness, its accuracy, and
world-class technical support.
