LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction,
and operation of high performance green buildings. The LEED professional
accreditation program is managed by the Green Building Certification
Institute (GBCI) which was established with the support of the U.S. Green
Building Council. LEED professional accreditation is awarded to those who
demonstrate through a multi-faceted credentialing program that they have
thorough knowledge of the latest green building practices and principles and
expertise in LEED requirements and processes.
The LEED movement is rooted in a desire to help sustain and improve the
environment. For more information about the Ideate focus on Building
