ENFIELD, UK, Oct 8, 2008 - Excitech, the UK's leading CAD learning partner is pleased to announce the launch of Autodesk's acclaimed Certification Program in the UK.

Designed to complement continual learning and training, Autodesk Certification provides a cost effective skills and knowledge assessment of CAD Users for specific Autodesk applications. Gaining certification enables users to receive recognition for their experience and expertise amongst peers and employers as well as providing a means of analysing Return on Investment gained from training.

A global standard, Autodesk Certification is currently available for AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor and Revit Architecture in two levels plus two preparation levels.

  • Pre-Assessment: The entry-level test designed to assess the candidates suitability to sit the Certified Associate examination.
  • Certified Associate: The first level of certification designed for those who have attended relevant training and have at least 100 hours hands-on usage.
  • Practice Test: An application-based precursor to the Certified Professional examination.
  • Certified Professional: This application-based exam is aimed at testing the practical skills of users who have attended relevant training and have at least 400 hours hands-on usage.

As well as a host of benefits including immediate diagnostic feedback, electronic certificates, certification logos and free re-sits, certification through Excitech is CPD Approved in conjunction with the Construction CPD Service. As an exclusive benefit to Excitech’s training customers, all candidates undertaking “Autodesk Essentials” level courses will receive a free Pre-Assessment test which can either be taken at the conclusion of their training course or at their desk at a later date.

Commenting on the launch of Autodesk Certification, Excitech’s Training Operations Manager Alan Skipp commented that; “the design and visualisation industries are competitive environments, where only the best stand out. The Program also provides employers with a tool to identify current and future training requirements as well as a means of investing in their staff. Aligned with official Autodesk training, Certification can be used as a method of identifying a Return on Investment on user training, something which is always important to customers investing large sums of money in external training course.”
