Excitech Launches CPD Certified CAD Video Portal

UK, May 6, 2010 - Excitech continues to make it easy for architects, engineers and designers to
learn about the latest design software from Autodesk through it’s recently
launched CPD Certified "Videos On Demand Portal".Building upon the
highly successful "Presentations On Demand" launched in 2009 (to coincide
with the Autodesk 2010 launch) and building on years of informative CAD
videos, Excitech has produced a over 100 CPD approved, short video
presentations covering the Autodesk software portfolio (including AutoCAD
2011, Revit Architecture 2011, 3ds Max Design 2011 and Inventor 2011); each
typically lasting no longer than 8 minutes. Over the course of the year,
Excitech will be releasing more videos covering industries such as Process
and Plant (including P&ID 2011 and Plant 3D 2011) products as well as
AutoCAD Mechanical 2011, Showcase 2011 and Alias 2011.
According to Excitech Managing Director, Adrian Atkinson, “the portal
significantly extends our ability to provide the industry with timely
information relating to the design tools and processes. With Autodesk
switching to software download as the standard distribution method for its
new releases, Autodesk subscription customers are now receiving their new
software significantly earlier than in the past. Feedback from our customers
suggests that they don’t want to wait for a month or two from receiving
their software for a seminar or web demonstration to find out what their new
design tools are capable of; the portal gives us an almost immediate means
of providing that information.”
The video portal has also been specifically developed to provide iPhone
users with the ability to view the entire range of videos relating
specifically to the Autodesk 2011 release through a mobile version of the
site similar to familiar video sharing websites such as YouTube.
Commenting on this, Adrian Atkinson says “the mobile functionality allows
users to review video content whilst travelling which is a real benefit
especially today when there is such a demand on everyone’s time.”
