ZURICH, Switzerland, June 19, 2008 - EVEN - Evolutionary Engineering AG - releases ComPoLyX 0.5.2, a powerful post-processing tool for composite parts and sandwich panels.

ComPoLyX enhances the post-processing abilities of your favorite composite design tool. ComPoLyX evaluates failure measures (reserve factor, inverse reserve factor and margin of safety) at all integration points for all layers. These common measures provide easy comparison and combination of multiple failure criteria for fiber reinforced plastics and sandwich panels. The failure measures and modes are visualized in an all-in-one plot where every element shows its most critical failure mode and the corresponding value. This convenient evaluation and visualization saves engineering time and discloses the load components which challenge the strength of your composite structure.

In addition, ComPoLyX supports a unique method for the interlaminar normal stress evaluation based on layered shell finite elements. This allows full 3D strength analysis which is important in composite structures where interlaminar strengths are much smaller than those in in-plane directions. Each strain and stress component can be visualized ply or layer-wise at bottom, mid and top. Global plies are maintained within ComPoLyX and can be accessed for post-processing.

ComPoLyX is easy to operate via the user-friendly graphical user interface or with python scripts. ComPoLyX supports all major FE-packages.
