Envista 2009 R 2 to be Showcased At APWA Congress

BEVERLY, MA, Sep 10, 2009 - Envista Corporation, the exclusive provider of web-based software for infrastructure project coordination, announced today it will showcase the newly released Envista 2009 Release 2, at the APWA 2009 International Public Works Exposition and Congress, from September 13-16, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. In Booth #601, the company will demonstrate Envista’s latest breakthrough features to aid in the planning process for paving, construction, and maintenance work. This map-driven platform helps towns, cities, utilities and highway agencies to optimize project timing, detect project conflicts, and reduce the impact of infrastructure work on the public. Also during the conference, Envista speakers will deliver two technical presentations focused on efficiencies gained from improved project coordination among public works departments and other stakeholders.

On Tuesday, September 15, Envista will present “Practical Solutions for Reducing Street Cuts” at 1:00-1:45pm in the Exhibitor Showcase Presentation area. This session will cover practical solutions based on interviews with dozens of U.S. and Canadian municipalities regarding protected streets, moratoriums, permitting and degradation fees, and collaboration as alternative methods. The presentation will conclude with a discussion on how web-based infrastructure project collaboration is an emerging technology that facilitates collaboration among municipalities, utilities and highway agencies. This coordination can result in fewer street cuts in newly paved roads.

Also on Tuesday, September 15, Envista’s Tom Bergeron will present “Canadians Sharing the Right of Way: Using a Dynamic, Map-Driven Application to Share Project Schedules” from 2:30 – 3:30pm in Room E162AB. He will cover the use of a web solution for utility collaboration to illustrate how stakeholders can view and update project plans graphically on a map accessed via the Internet. His session will describe the technology’s successful implementation from the varying perspectives of each stakeholder.
