Ed Goldberg to Write Book on Bentley Architecture
BALTIMORE,
MD, Jul 21, 2009 - Bentley Institute Press, a division of Bentley Systems, Inc
has contracted with H. Edward Goldberg, AIA NCARB to write a book on how to
use their Bentley Architecture software.
According to Jeff Kelly, Bentley’s Program Manager for Authors and
Publishing, “We chose Mr. Goldberg to write the text because he is an
accomplished author, former academic, and respected professional architect.
His knowledge and experience bring an added bonus to a book that we have
very high hopes for. The goal of the Bentley Institute Press is to produce
high quality books that promote Bentley as a ‘Knowledge Leader’ in the AEC
Industry. Bentley Architecture is a very powerful tool and we wanted a
book that could demystify the program by teaching our users the theory and
concepts behind the software.” Look for the book to be available in
about 8 months.
Mr. Goldberg notes, “the book will follow my standard format--an
introduction on Building Information Modeling (BIM) a series of tutorial
exercises that explain the tools, and work flow methodology. The final
chapter pulls together all of the previously acquired skills through the
modeling of a real-world project based on work from my own professional
architectural practice”. Ed has been an architect and construction manager
for more than 30 years and an educator for over 15 years; he was coordinator
of a community college CAD and Multi-media department and the coordinator of
Industrial Design at a local university. He has previously authored several
books on BIM software for publisher Pearson Education (Prentice Hall).
