Ed Goldberg Writes Revit Architecture 2009 Book
BALTIMORE,
MD, June 4, 2008 - Revit Architecture 2009: A Comprehensive Guide, by H.
Edward Goldberg, AIA, NCARB, was just released by publisher Pearson
Education, a subsidiary of Prentice Hall, and an Autodesk Design Institute
Press publisher.
Revit Comes of Age
Revit
Architecture represents the leading edge in CAD software for architects,
because it is Building Information Model (BIM) capable, technology the
architectural profession is moving exponentially to adopt. As Ed states in
the book’s Foreword, “I wrote this book because I believe that Revit has
finally reached a level of maturity that makes it the most viable BIM, 3D
modeling software program available. Concurrently with the writing of this
book, I began using the program in my architectural practice. I am now a
committed user…As a working professional and a trainer, I now recommend it
over other products for ease of use and capability-- whether one is
migrating from another software solution or learning Revit as a first
endeavor.”
ITT Adopts Goldberg’s Text
This is Mr. Goldberg’s first Revit book, following on the heels of his
six highly successful books on AutoCAD Architecture (formerly Architectural
Desktop). Mr. Goldberg holds the distinction of being the only practicing,
licensed architect, a hands-on user, and (former) college professor to
author books on software programs for architects. His user friendly,
tutorial format books have been embraced equally by educators and
professionals.
For the past three years, Mr. Goldberg’s ADT books have been adopted as
the sole teaching texts by the ITT Technical Institute, a leader in the CAD
training field. ITT operates 75 locations nationwide and offers an Associate
of Arts Degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting. ITT is currently
implementing a new Revit course, using the 2009 release and Mr. Goldberg’s
text. ITT faculty evaluated the text pre-publication, commenting on the
comprehensive scope of the work and the value of the tutorial exercises in
facilitating learning.
Of, By and For Architects
Because Revit Architecture 2009 is written by a practicing architect, for
architects, architectural draftsmen and students, it approaches the use of
REVIT for real world application. It focuses on a work-flow methodology,
covering the tools most necessary to build skills incrementally and become
productive quickly. The hands-on tutorial text allows independent,
self-paced learning, building skills incrementally and cumulatively. In the
final chapter, “Putting It All Together”, a comprehensive building tutorial,
based on a real-world project, pulls together all of the cumulative
knowledge gained by completing the previous exercises. Table of Contents 1.
