DP Technology Remodels Italian Headquarters
 CAMARILLO,
CA, Mar 4, 2009 - It can be near impossible to improve a classic, but DP
Technology, creator of ESPRIT computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software,
managed to do just that when it revamped its Italian headquarters in Florence,
Italy.
Improvements to the interior of the roughly 80-year-old refurbished classic
Florentine-style building were completed in the fall, when the final delivery of
new furniture took place.
“Having a high-tech software development team housed in a traditional 19th
century apartment-style building, with its large rooms and 15-foot ceiling, is
pretty unusual,” said DP President Paul Ricard. “However, it creates an ambiance
of quiet strength and class — a little bit like the software we build.”
To complete the aesthetic overhaul, improvements made to the large
suite-style office include the redesign of the interior layout, as well as fresh
paint, the installation of new electrical appliances and accessories, and new
furniture — though the staff opted to keep a few antiquated pieces native to the
building.
“The refurbishing we did improved upon the traditional look by adding a touch
of practicality, thus making the entire facility more conducive to creativity
and productivity,” Ricard said. “It does that without taking away the classical
feel of the place. We’re in Florence, after all!”
Counted among new electrical appliances in the office is a new energy-saving
air conditioning unit. Improvements to the building were overseen by Philippe
Albert, director of DP Europe, who designed the new look and feel of DP Italy.
“His design provided us with more functional space, more storage space and an
overall better layout,” said Simone Festevoli, applications engineer for DP
Italy.
