SANTA BARBARA, CA, GUANGZHOU, China and LYON, France, Sep 9, 2008 - Datakit, a leading Cad Data Exchange Company, announced today the compatibility of its converters with NX6.

With the launch of NX6 just a few weeks away, Datakit already has converters for the new version ready and on line.

Specially designed for draftsmen, these are NX6 plug-in converters to SolidWorks, Rhino 3.0 and 4.0, and stand-alone converters from NX6 to 3DM and the neutral formats Dfx, Iges, Parasolid and Step. They are already available for download from website. They will be followed very shortly by dedicated converters for Opencascade, CATIA V4, Robcad Technomatix and STL.

Software companies, using Datakit’s technology into their software can already support NX6 file exchange and bring users flawless compatibility with this new version.

Samad Elboustini, director of engineering at Datakit, explains: “we have to show that we can react very fast when new releases come out. Our product manager, Laurent Eraud, has plenty of experience of the NX structure, so in just under a month, we were able to get good results and take the interfaces to the market fast. We process the drawing entities, the 3D model (solid, surface and wireframe), the attributes (position, layer, visibility, model name), topology, parts and assemblies and also FDT information”.
