CSC Orion Integrates With Revit Structure
LEEDS, UK,
Aug 26, 2008 - CSC is delighted to announce the release of bidirectional
integration between Orion - their reinforced concrete building design
software and Autodesk Revit Structure.
CSC has used the knowledge gained from the success of their
bidirectional integration between Fastrak Building Designer - their steel
and composite building design software and Autodesk Revit Structure.

In a typical day-to-day design situation two scenarios can
now be adopted:-
The RC building can be modeled initially in Revit Structure.
The structure including grids, levels, beams, columns and walls can then be
exported to CSC's Orion software for detailed RC design. The export from
Revit Structure and the import into Orion, results in the model being set up
ready for completion of the foundations, slabs and loads in Orion before
automatically analyzing and designing the reinforcement required in the
structure.
Alternatively, the RC building can be modeled and designed
in Orion. The completed design, including grids, levels, columns, walls,
beams and slabs can then be transferred into Revit Structure to create a
complete structural model which may then be integrated with Revit
Architecture and Revit MEP and produce detailed general arrangement
drawings.
"This latest development reinforces CSC's ongoing commitment
to meet with customers requirements as they adopt and implement BIM", states
CSC’s CEO Mark Roberts.
