Malaysia's JKR Buys 30 Seats of CSC Orion Pro
 LEEDS, UK,
May 29, 2008 - Orion is a dedicated analysis, design and drafting solution for
reinforced concrete building structures. Orion provides a unique central
2D/3D modeling environment from which automatic analysis, design and
drafting are derived.
CSC is proud to announce the implementation of 30 networked
licenses of Orion Professional for JKR (Public Works Department)
Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 The
Public Works Dept was formed in 1872 to act as technical advisor to the
Federal Government and is responsible for roads, water supply, buildings,
airports, ports and jetties.
“Adopting an effective concrete building design solution was
a very important decision for JKR. More than 70% of our design projects are
concrete buildings” commented Ir. Mohd Noor Azudin b. Hj. Mansor, JKR's
Assistant Director Civil and Structural Design Department.
JKR did not take the decision on Orion lightly. “We established a
management committee of experienced engineers to review all available
solutions in the market. We are very pleased to be implementing Orion” Noor
Azudin added.
CSC provided dedicated training services to 30 engineers in JKR and the
Company extended its maintenance commitment to 2010 in order to get the most
from ongoing Orion development.
The Orion implementation forms an important part of JKR's overall
strategy to continue to improve the quality of engineering design services
to the public of Malaysia.
