CSC Announces Fastrak CD16 UK 'Imminent' Release
LEEDS, UK,
May 19, 2008 - CSC is pleased to announce the imminent UK release of Fastrak CD
16 - including Building Designer v8.0 - free to all users with current
maintenance contracts. The Fastrak Development Team have surpassed
themselves again with another fantastic update to an already great product.
The release is a major update, and users should attend
the free
upgrade training seminars in order to make the most effective use of the
software, and to find out our plans for the distribution of the forthcoming
Eurocode versions of Fastrak.
Fastrak Building Designer Version 8
Enhanced Analysis and Design Process
- New gravity and lateral design options - Fastrak will now
automatically select bracing members
- Additional P-Delta analysis - Fastrak will allow the use of a 'true'
P-Delta analysis alongside the more traditional simplified approaches
- The option for multiple design codes is now supported
- Support for design to AISC 360
- Enhancement for vibration analysis to support SCI P 354
- Support for Corus 'FibreFlor' fiber reinforced concrete in addition
to the existing Richard Lees 'Strux' and Kingspan 'Dramix'
New loading functions
- New automatic combination generator
- Automatic calculation of slab wet and dry loads accounting for the
effects of ponding
- New seismic load wizard
- Support for wind loading to ASCE
New
modeling functions
- New inclined plane function, work in 2D, and output in 2D for roof
planes
- Enhancements to column splice modeling
- The option for imperial (feet and inches) modeling and output is now
supported
- China Steel section sizes have been added to the steel database
- Enhanced 2D DXF import
Enhanced attributes
- Enhanced member attribute functions
- New connection attribute facilities
Enhanced output
- Significantly enhanced show/alter status output including color
coded utilization ratio
- New column scheduling report and DXF output
- New max/min output for beam end and foundation reactions
- Enhanced DXF drawing output
- New 3D DXF output
Connections
- Stiffeners now supported on hollow section connections
- Hollow section connections now integrated into Fastrak Building
Designer
Integration
- Support for integration with Revit Structure 2009 which includes
enhanced integration of web openings, Westok beams and curved beams

updates and enhancements
