Nominations Sought for Annual CAD Society Awards
DENVER, CO,
Feb 25, 2010 - The CAD Society today announced it is accepting nominations
of Computer Aided-Design (CAD) industry leaders, developers, professionals
and experts for the 2010 CAD Society Industry Awards. The CAD Society
Awards acknowledge individual contributions within the CAD and engineering
software industry. Nominations need to be received by March 22, 2010, for
consideration by the CAD Society.
Each nomination needs to explain which award category the nominee should
be considered, and the reasons why this nominee deserves to be honored.

"Every year, professionals in the CAD and engineering software industries
make amazing innovations and changes that affect our community," said Ken
Feitz, CAD Society Vice President. "The three awards the CAD Society
presents every year is our way of recognizing those who have contributed to
the CAD/CAM industry and we look forward to hearing what the community has
to say."
Members of the CAD Society will vote on nominations received. If you wish
to vote on nominees, you need to become a CAD Society member now at
www.cadsociety.org.
The CAD Society Awards acknowledge the contributions made by individuals
that have affected and developed the CAD, engineering, manufacturing and
architecture software industries. The awards will be presented at COFES
(Congress On the Future of Engineering Software), this year scheduled for
April 15-18, 2010, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The CAD Society presents awards in three categories:
Joe Greco Community Award: For outstanding work in improving
communication and developing community within the CAD industry. Richard
Doyle was the 2009 recipient of the Community award. Past award recipients
include: Sean Dotson, Chris Yessios, Lynn Allen, Randall Rath, CJ Shirk,
Kristine Fallon, Ralph Grabowski and Evan Yares.
Leadership Award: For outstanding technical and business leadership in
the CAD industry, and focus and dedication to the needs of CAD users. Bill
McClure and Dan Staples were the 2009 joint recipients of the Leadership
award. Past award recipients include: Jay Sunyogh, Dana K. "Deke" Smith,
Robert McNeel, Tony Affuso, Tom Butta, Jon Hirschtick, Bernard Charles and
Carl Bass.
Lifetime Award: For a lifetime of outstanding technical and business
contributions to the CAD industry. Richard Sowar was the 2009 recipient of
the Lifetime award. Past award recipients include: Dean Kamen, Russell F.
Henke, Ken Versprille, L. Stephen Wolfe, Carl Machover, Dr. Joel Orr,
Patrick Hanratty and Mike Riddle.
Only members of the CAD Society will be allowed to vote on nominations
received. Make sure you are a member of the CAD Society to cast your vote.
