KeyTERRA-FIRMA Offers Ground Modeling Apps for Bricscad v9
SEATTLE,
WA and GHENT, Belgium, Sep 16, 2009 - Bricsys - the company behind Bricscad
and KeyTERRA-FIRMA Ltd. developer of professional Infrastructure and Mapping
software announced that KTF and KeyGML – so far only available for AutoCAD -
are now released for Bricscad V9.
KTF is the mainstream product for Civil Engineers, Land Surveyors and
Landscape Architects. It has a large established and steadily growing user
base and is used by a diverse range of professionals. KTF makes Bricscad
extremely appropriate for 3D use in Civil, Infrastructure, Land Survey,
Environmental and Landscape design.
At the heart of the software is the Ground Modeling module where in
typical use the site and design are represented as surfaces created from 3D
entities in the Bricscad drawing.
Survey input from a wide range of Dataloggers, Total Stations and GPS
equipment is the main feature in the Land Survey module. It is extremely
easy to generate long and cross sections from Ground Models and 3D entities
in the Bricscad drawing. The software is highly suitable for the creation of
river and road cross sections.
KeyGML works inside Bricscad to read OS MasterMap .gml files (Geography
Mark-up Language) into the drawing in a structured and user controlled way.
Mr. Roger Wilcox, a Director at KeyTERRA-FIRMA Ltd. comments: “This
creates new opportunities for our company and our customers. With a minimum
of effort we ported our applications from AutoCAD to Bricscad. Now we can
offer our customers huge savings without giving up any functionality”.
“We are impressed with the powerful 2D and 3D capabilities of these
applications” - adds Erik De Keyser, CEO of Bricsys. “This strengthens our
position in the Civil and Environmental markets and contributes again to the
overall acceptance of the Bricscad platform.”
