Bricsys, Metso Partner for Integration of Bricscad v9
GHENT,
Belgium, Feb10, 2009 - Metso Automation has signed an agreement with Bricsys
NV for integrating Bricscad V9 into Metso's software applications. The
software controls industrial processes and power plants. Metso Automation
supplies process automation for the pulp and paper industry globally, and
serves customers in the energy, power, and process industries.
Metso Automation was one of the key pilot users of BRX, the advanced
application development platform from Bricsys. For two years, Metso
Automation worked closely with the Bricsys development team in testing
Bricscad with BRX. This led to the long-term collaboration agreement between
the two companies.
The agreement allows Metso Automation to integrate Bricscad V9 with Metso
Automations’ software, and then distribute it to customers as of December
2008. As part of the agreement, Metso Automation purchased several hundred
Bricscad V9 licenses for internal use.
Mika Karaila, Project Manager responsible for the integration of
Bricscad, comments: “Two years ago we decided to look for an alternative DWG
platform to bundle with our applications. After considering all options we
chose Bricscad. We knew we were early adopters of their technology, but the
responsiveness of the Bricsys development team combined with the robustness
of their products proved we made the right choice. In particular we are
impressed by the scale and deepness of their test procedures. “
“This is a major achievement for our company, because it confirms the
quality of software that Bricsys stands for,” says Erik De Keyser, CEO of
Bricsys. “Metso Automation’s software has a high impact on industrial
processes and controls. Bricsys is pleased to see that our BRX development
environment matches the high level of quality demanded by them.”
